• Hang feeders from hook or branch
• Position in full or part day shade
• Regularly clean the feeder

Routine cleaning (recommended bi-weekly, possibly more often in high humidity):

1. Remove the old seed and debris from the feeder
2. Use compressed air or a small nylon brush/toothbrush to remove as much debris as possible from the wood
3. Rinse the bird feeder with water
4. Let it dry completely
5. Refill with fresh food and hang it back up

Deep cleaning (as needed, depending on weather and extent of use):

1. Remove old seed and debris from the feeder
2. Fill a tub or container with water and some mild dish soap
3. Scrub the feeder with brushes or rags, being careful not to damage the wood
4. Thoroughly rinse all parts
5. Use a tub or container to create a bleach solution of nine (9) parts water to one (1) part bleach
6. Wearing protective gloves, soak the feeder for a few minutes, rotating it as necessary to submerge all parts
7. Remove the feeder from the bleach solution and thoroughly rinse all parts
8. Let it dry completely
9. Refill with fresh food, and hang it back up
